Attorney Chris French is the founder and managing partner of Downriver Law Center. He specializes in family law, including divorce, custody, and parenting time disputes, and is widely known for his highly efficient, no-nonsense approach to solving problems and protecting his clients’ interests. It’s a mindset summed up in his signature phrase: “No shenanigans.”

A calm strategist by design, Chris is focused, measured, and relentlessly efficient in how he prepares, communicates, and resolves legal matters. He has a low threshold for nonsense, and expects his clients, opposing parties, and other legal professionals to be on point and ready to solve problems. But when the situation calls for it, he becomes a pitbull in the courtroom, fiercely defending his clients and their families with unshakable resolve.

Chris is a devoted family man, professional musician, and proud advocate for the Downriver community, Chris is especially committed to supporting local veterans. Though he never served himself, he believes it is his duty to stand behind those who have.

Chris is a graduate of Michigan State University College of law. He has been recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business as one of the “50 Forces of Change” and was honored as a “Difference Maker” by the University of Michigan–Dearborn, where he graduated with the highest academic honors.
